5th Visit To Homeopathy Clinic - 29 May 2010

29 May 2010 - another visit to the same clinic.
Updating the `Dr' about Iman's development - not so exciting; Iman's was reported to began losing concentration but mumbling a lot and a lot of the time with `words' we never understood.  The medicine was supposedly to work continuously but seemed to loose it's `power' sooner than expected; said the Dr.  By right we can stop the medicine from now on.  The medicine was the lowest dosage and usually prescribed for baby 2 years and below.  In the end the Dr put her on the medicine with higher dosage.  He adviced us to give Iman the med for two weeks and see the result.  I just don't know what to think.  If possible I want to stop the medicine, any medicine for that matter but what should I do ?  We can't let Iman be ?  Please... Allah help us.  The Dr also said Iman's didn't show any character of an autistic child at all... how nice to hear that... may be she was never an autistic child ?

18 May 2010 - Meeting A Dietitian

Today, 18 May 2010, we went for the rescheduled visit with the Dr at KK Nilai concerning Iman's weight.  The Dr's waiting room were packed with people and Iman and my husband went out for some air and because Iman didn't `like' it in there.  At last we went in to see the Dr (she).  She didn't commented on the BMI (when I brought up the subject) may be because they didn't record any height measurement.  She quickly emphasized on the weight graph which Iman had exceeded the `normal' curve and into the`red zone' but didn't comment anything about Iman's static weight for the past 2 visits.  She also told us that the government is trying to control the obesity in babies in order to reduce heart problem in the future.  I was not happy with her at all.  After hearing my explanation of Iman food intake, she told us to reduce her milk intake to twice a day and food to be increase to trice a day.  Then she refered us to the dietitian.  Luckily the dietitian was in and we went straight to see her or else we have to come back another day.
The dietitian was also hoping that the height reading was available for her to calculate BMI.  But it seemed that nothing could be done.  Hhhmm... she was quite surprised when told Iman's food intake pattern which shouldn't be the problem for her weight.  Except for her milk intake, the dietitian advice us to give her 3 times a day and 250 ml each time.  She couldn't give me the conversion from ml to oz when asked.  She did try to flip over her reference book on her table (the only one that she had !!) and couldn't find it.  She did agree with me that it was not fair to say that Iman was obese based on the weight graph only.  She also said that Iman didn't seem `chubby'.  From her birth weight, she said Iman can be considered as `big baby'.  Well, Iman is always `chubby' to us (and to most people who saw her) from the very beginning.  I remembered when my third sister's sister in law kept on saying that Iman was `big' when she first saw her  (Iman was 5 months at that time).
I conclude that from today's visit, Iman's so called obesity was still not confirmed.
What a day !!
Tomorrow will be Iman's first visit to see the Occupational Therapist at Serdang Hospital, I wonder what will happen there ...

Iman's 2nd B'day - 15 May 2010

15 May 2010 - Nur Iman Zarifah's 2nd birthday...
We celebrated Iman's birthday at her atok's house.  It was not much of a celebration, just for fun, we bought a birthday cake for her and brought it to her atok's house as we were also visiting her atok who was discharged from IJN last Thursday.  Even though there were only us, atok and nenek but it was fun to see Iman excitement to cut her cake and to get her fingers in the cake too.  Iman did her counting; one, two ... as she was holding the knife, ready to cut in the cake.  However Iman didn't like the icing, sounding like about to throw up when she tasted the icing.  Iman only ate a bit of the cake.  She never like sweet things.  I just couldn't believed it that she is actually two years old now.  How fast time flew... just like yesterday I held her in my arms, my little sweet baby.  My dear Iman, umi will always pray for only the best things to happen in your life journey... Umi will always love you and you will always be my little sweet baby angel...

At last... cutting the cake, atok looking on and smiling.

Let's cut some more...
nenek quickly grabbed her tudung

Here is a picture of Iman's 1st birthday last year - celebrated `in private @ at home'.
I prefer to celebrate Iman's birthday in private, just the three of us...yes ... Ayah + Umi = Iman

Just a small cake... she didn't taste it either.
Look at her ... how much she changed ?  In a way, I kind of sad seeing her growing up so fast... Before I knew it she won't be needing me anymore ... hhhmmm... hope Iman will always love me even if not as much as how I loved and cared for her.

Iman's Update

On 5th May 2010 - We when for her scheduled check up at KK Nilai.  The people there said Iman was obese.  Her weight still at 16Kg (in the red zone of weight' graph).  So, they scheduled her to see the Dr on 11th May 2010.  When we went on 11th May 2010, we were rescheduled to 18th May 2010 because the Dr was not in !  What a day, we wished they had called us about that and save our time and energy.  Unfortunately no call was made.
On 10th may 2010 - We went for Iman' scheduled speech therapy at Serdang Hospital.  We were supposed  to go in at 11 am but there was a problem with the number given to us at the registration counter and we were delayed and managed to go in about an hour later.  We met the speech therapist/lady (I forgot to see her name tag !) but no therapy was done for this first session because it was intended for recording Iman's background/history by interviewing us/parents.  Iman was let to roam around the room and played with the toys there while we talked.  Once in awhile Iman came and tried to take papers and mouse pad from the lady.  The lady also referred Iman for Occupational Therapy (OT).  From her first impression of  Iman, she didn't think Iman was autistic.  I was so glad to hear that, of course, but we didn't tell her that Iman's behavior now was (in a way/we thought so) better after taking homeopathy medicine.  She told us an autistic child would act differently (aren't we glad to hear that !).  We were given some advice how to stimulate Iman speech; reduce TV watching (we already knew that), recording words spoken by Iman and few other things suggested to us.  The next visit were scheduled for 27th July 2010.  She claimed that there were only two of them there so their time were tight and that's why they can't see patient more often... hhhmmm typical explaination.  We were just following their schedule... no point in arguing, it was expected to be that way anyway.  But she claimed that at OT the visits might be more often because they have more people there to attend to patients.  Well, just wait and see.  Iman's OT visit was scheduled on 19th May 2010.  We didn't think anything would happened that day, as usual they must want to take in data for the first visit.  To summarize, nothing gain in term of Iman's speech improvement from the visit to Serdang Hospital till now, kind of frustrating....
We ourselves were puzzled of Iman's behavior sometimes, most of the time we were just thought of her as a hyperactive child and that's why she is a late talker.

Promoting CD

On 1st May 2010, my 3rd sister came over with her family and my mother (I asked her to).  She came to pick up the Lunatots CD which I bought for Iman but decided not to use them and gave them to her instead so that she can try to CDing her twin boys.  I talked/discussed/showed about CDing how to, care and stuffs.  She decided to buy another set of Wuddah CD and another set of Lunatots and a wet bag from Lunatots also.  I showed her my wet bag and promoted her Lunatots's wet bag for her usage (I should have been the Lunatots's reseller !).  They stayed overnight even though they didn't plan to do so at the beginning.  They went to Giant Hypermarket to get stuffs like clothes etc for the one night stay.  I told them the next day after zohor prayer we are going to Seremban because we have something to settle there, I didn't tell them about Iman's even when they asked why.  Till now nobody on both side of our families knew about Iman's situation.  We don't think there is any reason why they should been told.  Therefore, they left home before zohor the next day.
Today, I sent an e-mail to my sister telling her that she might received her order a bit late because my husband will be busy seeing his family's matter for this week and couldn't go to the shops.  His father will be admitted to Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) tomorrow - 05 May 2010 and operated on Thursday/06 May 2010 to relocate his heart's battery from his left chest to his right side because some wire had been came out of his skin.  His skin is thin and he is one skinny man.  On 2nd May 2010, we went home and he showed my husband the wire.  On 3rd May, as planned, my husband accompanied him for his scheduled visit at IJN.  The technician who saw him quickly called the surgeon about the wire and the surgeon came right away to see the matter.  Then, the surgeon decided to change the location of the battery, he told them that it must be done quickly because the cut in the skin caused by the wire might led to infection and then the heart might get infected too.  Dangerous situation there !  No wonder the surgeon quickly scheduled for the operation.  I will be praying for his quick recovery after his operation.  Frankly, I like my father in law, he is a nice man and he treated me nicely.  He always hugged and kissed my forehead (in a fatherly manner) when I visited him.  I realized that he always did that after my father had passed away (he did saw my tears the first time I went home after my father's death).  May be he tried to love me as a father since I didn't have one anymore.  I used to asked my husband did he ever saw his father did that to his sister in law ?  He told me, never.  Whatever it is, I prayed for his good health.  When the day came, the Dr didn't change the battery location but he changed all the wires instead.  My father in law had to stay at IJN for a week, the Dr said they had to monitor him/wire and he had to do physiotherapy too.  He told us his arm hurt when he tried to raise it.  And after four days the wound inflamed too.  We are not sure when he will be discharged.
We posted the CDs's order to my sister on 10th May 2010.  She can try them on her kids soon.  From her blog, she sounded excited to try them on... hhmm hopefully she will stay faithful with the CD...hahaha...

4th Trip To Homeopathy Clinic - 02 May 2010

Why not in the mood for a smile?
02 May 2010 - Again, another visit to the same homeopathy clinic.  We saw the same `Dr' and he was positive in Iman's development.  He reassured us that Iman will be talking soon (how soon I  am still wondering).  We could hear Iman trying to say 2 syllables words nowadays.   We can see Iman's improvement in behavior, she responded when asked to stand on the weighing scale.  She followed instruction, listened to our command and showed good eye contact.  She didn't touch/play with things on the Dr's table not like before.  Iman was totally different from the first time we were there.  I am so very glad and thankful.  She will be continuing taking her medicine.  Since Iman was showing improvement and no `side effects' seem to be observed by us, therefore we were advised to continue her current medicine for another month.  As he said before we will continue at least for 3 months.  Iman had been taking her medicine about 2 and half months now.  We have to wait and see.
Next week - 10 May 2010, she will be attending her first speech therapy at Serdang Hospital.  Hope everything goes well after this.
