My Husband's New Nephew

16 Feb 2010...
Today we went to visit my brother in law's new baby boy, his second child (not named yet), born on 15 Feb 2010, 2.9kg, by virginal delivery after the mother had endured 3 days of pain !  Hey, who said giving birth was easy (to some lucky women ...may be) !  Went asked which she preferred, normal or c-sect birthing process?  She quickly answered she preferred c-sect: less pain.  I can't comment on c-sect because I have no experience...but virginal birth...wow... talk about pain?  Yup... I know how it felt...
I didn't visit went the couple's had their first born 3 years ago (2.6kg).  I was pregnant with Iman and warded because I was bleeding (about 7 weeks pregnant at that time).  I was so scared that I might loose my baby but alhamdulillah everything went well after that.  After a few days bed rest in the ward, the bleeding stopped and I was discharged but with few more days of medical leave and a letter saying - light duty.

So, c-sect or virginal birth? Ladies out there, which way do you prefer??  Which wound heals faster or less painful ??  I don't have the answer ....

The couple's newborn baby- 1st born son 3 years ago; Darwish (not sure about the spelling of his name but it sounded like that).
This is the couple's newborn baby - the second son named Rayyan
In both picture; my husband's mother was holding the babies.

10th Wedding Anniversary - 6 Feb 2010

6 February 2010 - my 10th wedding anniversary... wow... a decade ago I was married to this man after knowing him for about 3 years and I am still with him and now plus one very cute active toddler of ours.  So, how was my life? Married life that is !  After being married for ten years... come to think of it...ten years ?  This time I had done some reflection of our ten years together... think...think...think... the ups and downs... happy, sweet and sad moments...the anger?...the jealousy? blaa...blaa...blaa...  In short, we went through quite a lot in our 10 years together.  Frankly, I didn't feel like celebrating this time around.  Why ?? I just haven't a clue...  I, myself was puzzled...but that's how it was.  My husband was the one who 'remembered' the day... Well, he did forget about it once before and I was soooo upset... Well, this year he bought me a card (as usual) and a present... hooray...thank you darling... I wasn't really hoping for a present...a card is enough because I like to keep all the cards that he had given me and labeled them by the year of our anniversary ... may be one day or when I am gone, Iman can have a look at them.  What kind of card?  I like funny one...I always give him funny cards (I like to see the humor in everything).  Well, this year he gave me a jade locket.  He knew I always like jade.  Yeah... I like the present...like it very much.... thanks.  I actually didn't care whether he gave me a present or not or how much it was...all that matters to me is that he remembered it and wished good  nice wishes...that's more than enough.  My dear husband, you were and are one nice husband to be married to.  Many happy moments we shared all these years.  Hope you will continue to be or be a better husband in the years to come.  I love you, always...

ta daa..

Here is a present for you - a song ... because... yes...you ARE the love of my life:

Title:  Love Of My Life
By:  Jim Brickman

I am amazed when I look at you
I see you smiling back at me
It's like all my dreams came true
I am afraid
If I lost you now
I'd fall through the cracks
And lose my track in this crazy lonely world
Sometimes it's so hard to believe
When the nights can be so long
And faith gave me the strength
And kept me going on
You are the love of my life
And I'm so glad you found me
You are the love of my life
Baby put your arms around me
I guess this is how it feels
When you finally find something real
My angel in the night
You are my love
The love of my life
Now here you are
With midnight closing in
You take my hands as our shadows dance
With moonlight on your skin
I look in your eyes
I'm lost in your kiss
I think if I'd never met you
About all the things I'd missed
Sometimes it's so hard to believe
When a love can be so strong
And faith gave me the strength
And kept me holding on
You are the love of my live
And I'm so glad you found me
You are the love of my live
Baby put your arms around me
I guess this is how it feels
When you finally find something real
My angel in the night
You are my love
The love of my life
You are the love of my life
And I'm so glad you found me
You are the love of my life
Baby put your arms around me
I guess this is how it feels
When you finally find something real
My angel in the night
You are my love
My angel in the night
You are my love
The love of my life...

Happy 10th Anniversary and I hope we will be together for the next ten years... May Allah bless us and our family...amin...

Iman's Hair

Today Iman is much better; no coughing and no blocked nose.  Alhamdulillah.
Iman's hair? Yeah what about it?  Hhhmm her hair is a bit curly at the end.  My husband's side of the family have curly hair... on my side ... straight.  As many mums out there (my believe !) I love to see her hair tide up in pony tail what so ever and wearing all those nice hair pins or hair bands... but Iman just hated them...they won't stay long on her head.  Once she tried to swallowed her hair band while I was in the kitchen but luckily she vomited it out by herself.  Here are some of her pictures with her hair tide up (the time when we managed to do so)...

Recipe : Fettuccine and Coconut Milk Prawn Sauce

This is what I called one of my lazy day's recipes.
The sauce is hot; the way we like it ...and the crunchiness of the white cabbage...yummy

The ingredients:
1.  Blended
     Red onions
     Garlic
     Ginger
     Bird eye chilies
2.  Chopped/shredded
Sweet basil (I planted my own)
     Spring onion (for garnishing)
     Chinese parsley (for garnishing)
     White cabbage (for garnishing)
3.  Coconut milk
4.  Dry/powder
     Cumin
     Paprika
     Mixed herbs
Oregano (I haven't planted my own yet)
Sweet basil (if you don't have fresh supply)
     Turmeric
     Black and white peppers
     Salt
5.  Assam or tamarind paste
6.  Prawn
7.  Fettuccine pasta

Cooking the sauce:
1.  Into a cooking pot; blended ingredient, coconut milk, sweet basil, all dry/powder ingredients,  and let simmer.
2.  Throw in the prawn, salt and assam, simmered till how thick you wanted the sauce to be.  I like it a bit runny.

Cooking the pasta:
According to the time printed on the package or to you own taste.  I like to add salt, oil, black pepper and mixed herbs while boiling them.

Then put pasta on the plate, poured the sauce on and garnish ... there... bon appetite...

p/s:  No ingredient's amount - up to your own taste and creativity.  My cooking never tasted the same each time I cooked anything !

Footsteps To Remember

Some of Iman's shoes from baby till now.  She might not remember all the steps, running and the times that she had fallen while wearing them but they had once been on her feet and I had enjoyed seeing her wearing them and always cherished the moment we had spent together.

Iman's Art Appreciation

I suggested that Iman should be given the opportunity to play with colors.  Since water color or poster color is 'very unsuitable' for her at these stage, therefore we bought her a pack of colorful crayon and drawing papers for her to draw (doodle more like it).  I always see her using the color purple crayon, I guess that was her favorite color.  Sometimes she ended up coloring the sheet or even her dress; talking about being creative huh?  I just enjoy her act while coloring or doodle-ling ... she acted funny sometimes...engrossed in her art creation.  I am not sure whether we should kept her creation and show them to her when she is older.  May be we should.  But one thing for sure we never let her play with her crayon alone.  We were always watching her.  I don't mind her breaking the crayon into two or three but the most important thing is we don't want her to eat them !

Just look at her creating her art !  Sometimes she used both hands one after the other.  She is also known to use her toes to do things while her hands were busy doing another thing.  When she was a baby, she used to pinch me with her toes, especially while I was changing her !
At the moment she is having cough and runny nose.  We already referred her to the doctor and the doc did ask whether she was asthmatic and whether she was active - she was 'big' for her age, the doc said.  Well, so far no doctors or we ourselves never thought that she was having any problem with her lungs, she never had any breathing problem.  She is always been an active baby.   She did have an eczema episode before.  Whatever it is, now she is getting better.  Her cough almost gone but her nose still having a bit of a problem... always blocked, may be because of the medicine given?  Medicine which dried up nasal fluid?  I resort to using the salt lamp therapy, which had help my blocked nose before.  Hope her nose will get better soon.

The salt lamp.  More negative ions and red light therapy?
Virgin coconut oil
The brand of Virgin Coconut Oil which we had used for Iman's eczema.  We are still using it when she had itchy skin or whenever is needed.
